Richard has been an excellent teacher for me - an older student and just a little past being a beginner. We've picked interesting pieces to work on that are just hard enough for me, and he is enthusiastic and supportive about the music itself and my efforts. I especially enjoy his musicality and ability to help me appreciate the music even at my level.
Richard has been teaching our family the past month, and he's been a consummate professional. He customizes the lessons to allow the beginners to achieve easy wins while learning the fundamentals, and also works with each pupil to figure out what they are interested in mastering, whether that is classical or jazz or pop songs.
